I got done with another hard & incredibly nightmarish 16-page paper (for my Criminology class) last night & I was so relieved (to feel the stress & frustration leave me) that I drew this up & painted it last night.
The character design in Final Fantasy XII is so detailed but I have a lot of fun drawing it. I'm also experimenting with different poses & anatomy is really hard to get right. Though the anatomy & proportions in the picture came out good (for me!!!) so I'm happy. (And ja, ja, his right arm might look a little off but the angle is actually correct...his arm is resting on something.) But yes, this is Balthier from FF12, of course. He's my favourite male character in the game; he kind of seems like a player & he flirts but he's awesome. And he's the only guy that can wear pastel-coloured bracelet's & rings and still look like the straightest guy. Drawing him makes me want to draw Fran now. The weapon that is leaning on him is his Antares gun; it's the 3rd strongest rifle for him.
Drawn with coloured india inks & then coloured in with watercolours. Because the blue background (originally) came out really awful (my blue watercolours were being hell & were mottling), I had to edit it with Photoshop. So yeah...the sky is Photoshop, bloody hell.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
